Ms. Evelyn

Evelyn D. Smith-Lynch is the Vice President at C. L. Lynch Mortuary Inc. and is responsible for building customer and business relationships, developing and implementing customer-oriented programs, and providing training and development to achieve superior customer service. She also curates educational workshops and organizes community outreach events.
Prior to joining C. L. Mortuary, Evelyn worked in Customer and Field Service Operations for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for over 32 years. Notable is her 13 years as a Supervisor and Manager for LADWP, the largest municipal utility in the United States, where she designed and implemented the first supervisory training program, which equipped new supervisors with a deeper understanding of their supervisory roles; she led the customer remediation project after implementation of the new billing system and built teams to resolve issues through collaborative exchanges; inspired various groups of customer service focused staff to update processes, training manuals, and reference materials to improve customer performance; she also managed and developed safety programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines for office employees.
Under Evelyn’s leadership, LADWP improved customer service business practices and safety performance, reducing customer wait times, increasing employee knowledge, overall employee performance, and safe work environments. While at LADWP, Evelyn mentored and coached countless employees to reach the next level in their careers. She also held the role of LADWP Employee’s Association Election Committee Chair for five years, LADWP National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Professional Development Committee Chair, Corporate Health and Safety’s Joint Labor Management Committee member, and participated in the LADWP Society of Women Engineers (SWE) mentoring pilot program.
Evelyn holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is also an active member of several organizations, including LADWP and Write-On Toastmasters, The Association of Women in Water Energy and Environment (AWWEE), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Society of Hispanic Engineers (SHPE), and Biola Ruby Women.
Evelyn is a speaker with over 25 years of experience presenting to businesses, associations, and religious organizations. She speaks on customer service, leadership, training, management, organizational development, team building/issues, pre-funeral, cremation, burial arrangement planning, marriage, and relationships.
Evelyn is the co-author of I’m a Survivor My COVID Journey, along with her husband. In addition, she has written an e-book on The Top 15 Ways to Ruin Your Marriage, which visits the simple things couples do to end their marriage. Evelyn is also a contributing author in Live Abundantly, where she shares her experience and offers advice on overcoming fear. She will also release a series of How to Books soon.
On a personal level, Evelyn is a Wife to Courtney Lynch and a Mother to their only adult daughter, Esjire. She loves traveling, singing, teaching, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys meeting and connecting with people and uses her strengths to build relationships and encourage others to live their best lives.
